Build Lean Muscle - The Secrets About How to Build Lean Muscle

Are you looking to build lean muscle, to get yourself fitter, and to burn off your excess body fat? Are you unsure where to start to get the results that you desire? You're not alone - many people think that getting a fit looking body is easy but a lot less succeed at achieving that goal.

The process of building lean muscle, getting fitter and burning body fat isn't that difficult to do, but it does take some thought, and some effort to get there. Is it unlikely that you will just turn up at the gym, do some exercises and some cardio, eat well, and achieve the results that you desire. It might work to a point, but you need to know how to break down the goal into that parts that need to be achieved.

First you need to build muscle mass - increase the size of the muscles. This has two purposes, first it builds the 'scaffolding' for the next stages of your body's development, and second it allows you to burn more energy, and hence more body fat. The basic idea here is to do a full body workout, comprising of compound exercises, in the 12 repetition range, and with a short rest between each set. You should also aim to do supersets, which are completing two sets of different exercises back to back without a rest in between. This makes the workout more intense and will burn fat like a cardio session.

Your next focus once you know what workouts you will do is to look at your diet. The diet needs to supply your body with the correct number of nutrients to allow it to build muscle, but not so much so that you put on fat. If you are eating similar amounts to what you normally would for example, and you're doing the above workout, you're going to be digging into fat reserves. You need to make sure that your body has the energy and protein to continue to work throughout the day. If you did a workout similar to the one above your body will be burning calories whilst you are not exercising, and will therefore need fuel.

By this point in time, since you have been doing the muscle mass building, and eating the right food, your muscles should be starting to look really good and your body fat percentage should be doing down. Once you have been working out enough to get the muscle size, you need to start to increase your strength and muscle density. What this will do is start to make your muscles look more angular, or ripped, instead of being rounded as they would be from building the mass alone. In this stage you need to also look at how your body is being transformed, and concentrate on building any body parts that are lagging behind, or that you want to balance, or making bigger in proportion to other muscles to get the right look.

Once you have been built the lean, denser muscles to a successful stage, you need to get rid of the final bit of body fat that is preventing your body from looking really ripped. This stage will take you to a point where you look like a fitness model or movie star, and should also be considered at the maintenance part of your muscle-building journey. If you do this right, if you have the right exercises and diet by this time, which you should have, then you should easily be able to maintain this body shape for many years.
